TGIF- Week of Change!

This past week has been full of change around here. Mostly, physical changes to the house that in retrospect, were seriously overdue.

First we moved all of my work stuff upstairs into our loft area, so I now have a real office type place!

The walls are still pretty bare after taking down most of the kid stuff.

After finally getting this stuff out of our living room, we actually had space to put a nice couch instead of the tiny old one we just couldn't seem to get rid of.

(The couch really isn't crooked, it just looks that way because I used a special panorama app on my phone and it stitches several pics together... Guess I didn't hold the camera straight enough!)

I can't tell you how these, and the other small changes we have made, make me feel. How amazing it is to have my own work space where I feel like I'm better able to 'go to work', but also 'clock out' as well. How I can walk up the stairs, work, but also go away from it and clean the house, snuggle with my kids, and do all my wife and motherly things without my work staring at me the whole time.

It's so nice to have our living room back too. I didn't realize how uncomfortable it made me having all of my work out there all the time. Not only did I feel like I could never leave it, but I also felt like it didn't belong there. I felt so odd when people would come over, that they were just staring at stacks of paper and sitting on a small broken couch.

I'm still trying to finish the kitchen. I bought new kitchen towels and finally hung the cow diagram that I gave my hubby for father's day last year. I would like to finally figure out what we are putting on the large bare blue wall so it won't look so plain. I would also like to finish the cabinets and hang some shades. I will post again if when those things actually get done!

What did you do this week?
